Posthuman

Posthuman is the project of Joshu Doherty, a DJ and producer rooted in acid house — the raw, machine-driven sound that emerged from Chicago in the mid-1980s and found a second life in the UK rave scene. Working at the intersection of acid, electro, and warehouse-era electronic music, Posthuman builds sets and productions that honor the genre’s origins while pushing its sonic edges. Based in Glasgow, Posthuman operates as a solo artist for touring DJ work and as a duo for recording and production.

The acid house sound is built on the Roland TB-303 bass synthesizer — its squelching, resonant tones are the genre’s signature. Posthuman’s productions use that foundation as a starting point, layering drum machine patterns, distorted textures, and dancefloor energy into tracks that work at 3 AM in a club and still reward close listening at home. Releases have come through I Love Acid Records, Balkan Vinyl Recordings, and Seed Records, with live performances including Glastonbury Festival.

People of Rhythm represents Posthuman for bookings.
